Purpose of the Role

The Parent Relations Manager will serve as the primary liaison between the school and the parent community. The role aims to build and maintain strong, positive relationships with existing parents, support prospective parents during admissions, ensure high parent satisfaction and retention, and enhance the school’s brand image through parent engagement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

1. Parent Engagement & Relationship Building

  • Act as the first point of contact for parents on non-academic matters: enquiries, feedback, concerns.
  • Build long-term, trust-based relationships with parents via regular communication (meetings, calls, events).
  • Anticipate parent needs/concerns and ensure they are addressed promptly and appropriately.

2. Communication

  • Facilitate clear and consistent communication between school leadership/teachers and parents (newsletters, circulars, digital platforms).
  • Manage parent feedback channels: surveys, suggestion boxes, follow-ups.
  • Ensure parents are kept informed about school policies, programmes, events, changes.

3. Admissions & Onboarding (Prospective and New Families)

  • Support the Admissions & Marketing teams by taking part in school tours, open houses, orientation sessions for new parents.
  • Ensure smooth onboarding of new families: welcome packs, introductions, follow-up after joining.
  • Engage prospective parents: respond to enquiries, help explain school offerings, build confidence to join.

4. Events & Community-Building

  • Conceptualise, plan and execute parent-centric events: Parent-Teacher Meetings, workshops, coffee mornings, volunteer programmes, social gatherings.
  • Encourage parent involvement in school activities and foster a community feeling.

5. Retention, Satisfaction & Feedback

  • Monitor and track parent satisfaction levels; collect feedback and propose improvements.
  • Identify families at risk of leaving (withdrawals) and work proactively to retain them.
  • Maintain records of parent interactions, feedback, concerns and resolutions.

6. Collaboration & Reporting

  • Work closely with Academic, Admissions, Marketing, Finance and other teams to ensure parent-voice is represented.
  • Prepare periodic reports for school leadership: parent satisfaction trends, enquiry-to-admission conversions, retention statistics.
  • Use CRM, MIS or communication tools to track and manage parent engagement and data.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree (in Communications, Education, Public Relations or relevant field) preferred.
  • 2-5 years (or more) of experience in customer/parent relations, preferably in school/education sector.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English (local language skills a plus).
  • Strong interpersonal skills: empathetic, patient, approachable.
  • Conflict-resolution and problem-solving ability.
  • Good organisational and event-management skills.
  • Comfortable using MS Office, CRM/MIS and digital communication platforms.
  • Willingness to occasionally work evenings or weekends for parent-events/orientations.

Working Conditions

  • On-site role at school branch; frequent interaction with parents, students and staff.
  • May require travel between branches (if school has multiple campuses) or for feeder-school visits/outreach.
  • Six-day week (or as per school policy) with rotational day off.

Performance Indicators

  • Parent satisfaction scores/feedback trends.
  • Retention rate of existing families.
  • Conversion of enquiries of prospective parents into admissions.
  • Attendance and participation rates in parent events.
  • Timeliness and effectiveness of responses to parent enquiries/concerns.
