Job Description

Purpose/Objective


    The Maintenance E&I Packing Plant (GU) is responsible for ensuring the reliability, integrity, and optimal performance of all electrical and instrumentation systems within the plant. The role involves overseeing preventive and predictive maintenance programs, troubleshooting and resolving E&I issues, and implementing improvements and modifications to enhance system efficiency and safety. The Maintenance E&I Packing Plant (GU) will work closely with mechanical maintenance, logistics, and production teams to minimize downtime and support the plant's operational goals.

Key Responsibilities of Role


    E&I Packing Plant Maintenance Oversight: Oversee and manage all electrical and instrumentation maintenance activities for the Packing Plant, ensuring the reliability and functionality of electrical systems, control systems, and instrumentation. Collaborate with mechanical maintenance teams to ensure a holistic approach to maintenance that optimizes overall plant performance. Preventive & Predictive Maintenance: Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance schedules for electrical and instrumentation equipment to prevent unscheduled downtime and enhance equipment life. Utilize advanced diagnostic tools such as infrared thermography, vibration analysis, and motor circuit analysis to predict electrical and instrumentation failures. Internal Control & Compliance: Ensure that all E&I maintenance activities comply with electrical safety standards, industry regulations, and company policies. Implement and monitor internal control systems specifically for E&I maintenance to maintain accuracy and reliability in electrical and instrumentation operations. Equipment Performance Monitoring: Monitor and analyze the performance of electrical and instrumentation systems, including sensors, PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers), and SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) systems. Identify and troubleshoot issues in electrical circuits, control systems, and instrumentation to prevent operational disruptions. Improvement & Modification Projects: Lead E&I-related improvement and modification projects to enhance system efficiency, reliability, and safety. Work closely with the mechanical maintenance team to ensure that E&I modifications are integrated smoothly with mechanical systems. Spare Parts & Inventory Management: Manage the inventory of electrical and instrumentation spare parts, ensuring the availability of essential components and equipment. Collaborate with the Incharge - Planning (E&I) (GU) to maintain an optimized inventory that aligns with maintenance schedules and operational demands. Safety & Environmental Compliance: Enforce strict adherence to electrical safety protocols and environmental standards during maintenance activities. Conduct regular safety audits and risk assessments for E&I maintenance tasks to ensure a safe working environment. Coordination with Logistics & Production: Coordinate with logistics and production departments to schedule E&I maintenance activities that minimize impact on packing operations. Ensure that electrical and instrumentation maintenance is aligned with production schedules and logistics planning. Training & Development: Provide specialized training for maintenance staff on E&I maintenance techniques, safety procedures, and new technology implementations. Encourage knowledge sharing and professional development among E&I maintenance personnel. Reporting & Documentation: Maintain comprehensive records of all E&I maintenance activities, including inspections, repairs, calibrations, and upgrades. Generate and present reports on the status and performance of electrical and instrumentation systems within the Packing Plant. Continuous Improvement & Innovation: Promote a culture of continuous improvement in E&I maintenance by regularly reviewing processes and implementing best practices. Investigate and adopt new technologies and innovations in electrical and instrumentation maintenance to drive efficiency and reduce costs. Qualifications and Experience


    Education Qualification: BE in Electrical/ Automation Engineering. Work Experience: 7+ years in maintenance management for manufacturing or industrial environments, with significant experience in packing plant systems and equipment. Proven ability in maintenance program implementation and project leadership. Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of packing plant equipment and maintenance practices, with expertise in preventive and predictive maintenance.
