OT MANAGER

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and supervise day-to-day activities of the operation theatres.
• Prepare and manage OT schedules, ensuring optimal utilization of OT time.
• Ensure timely preparation of OT rooms, instruments, and equipment before procedures.
• Monitor turnover time and implement strategies to improve efficiency.
• Provide training on surgical protocols, infection control, and emergency procedures.
• Ensure adherence to hospital policies, surgical safety checklists, and clinical standards.
• Monitor compliance with sterile techniques, infection control protocols, and hand hygiene.
• Ensure safe handling, storage, and use of surgical instruments and consumables.
• Support incident reporting, audits, and quality improvement initiatives.
• Coordinate preventive maintenance with biomedical engineering.
• Maintain stock of consumables, implants, surgical sets, and emergency drugs.
• Manage procurement requests and optimize resource utilization.
• Liaise with surgeons, anesthesia team, nursing departments, and critical care units.
• Resolve conflicts, delays, and operational bottlenecks.
• Implement NABH/JCI standards related to surgical services.
• Maintain accurate records: case logs, sterilization records, OT registers.
• Conduct audits (infection control, instrument tracking, surgical checklists).
• Ensure compliance with legal, safety, and biomedical waste guidelines.
• Prepare reports on OT utilization, infection rates, adverse events, staffing, and costs.
• Support budget planning for equipment, consumables, and manpower.
• Ensure documentation and support accreditation processes.
