About the Role

Oracle Database Architect

Key Responsibilities

Architecture & Design

Design and document enterprise-level Oracle database architectures (on-prem, cloud, or hybrid)
Define database standards, policies, and best practices for design, deployment, and integration
Architect high-availability (HA) and disaster recovery (DR) solutions using
Oracle RAC, Data Guard, and GoldenGate
Design and optimize
multi-tenant Oracle environments
and
container databases (CDB/PDB)

Cloud & Infrastructure Integration

Architect and implement Oracle databases on
Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI)
and/or other cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
Evaluate and deploy
Database as a Service (DBaaS)
solutions for scalability and cost-effectiveness
Collaborate with cloud architects and DevOps teams to integrate databases into CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code (IaC) models,

Performance & Optimization

Conduct in-depth performance tuning of SQL, PL/SQL, and database configuration parameters
Analyze AWR, ASH, and execution plans to resolve bottlenecks and improve response times
Design data models and partitioning strategies for optimal performance and manageability

Security & Governance

Define data security architecture including
encryption, masking, auditing
, and
role-based access control
Ensure compliance with regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, SOX) and internal audit standards
Implement data lifecycle management policies and secure backup/recovery processes

Required Skills & Qualifications

Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
Deep expertise in:

Oracle RAC, Data Guard, ASM, GoldenGate
PL/SQL development and SQL tuning
Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM)
and diagnostic tools
Backup & recovery (RMAN)
and disaster recovery planning
