Role Overview: As an optometrist, your primary responsibility will involve diagnosing and treating vision problems and eye diseases. You will be prescribing eyeglasses and contact lenses, as well as providing comprehensive eye care through eye exams, result analysis, and treatment recommendations. Your role will also include recommending vision therapy or low vision rehabilitation when necessary. Key Responsibilities: - Conducting Comprehensive Eye Exams: You will perform thorough eye exams to evaluate vision and ocular health. - Diagnosis and Treatment: Identifying and managing vision problems and eye diseases such as glaucoma or cataracts. - Prescribing Corrective Lenses: Recommending and prescribing eyeglasses and contact lenses as needed. - Treatments and Therapies: Providing vision therapy or low vision rehabilitation to patients. - Patient Education and Counseling: Educating patients on eye care, preventive measures, and treatment plans. - Collaboration: Working closely with ophthalmologists and other healthcare professionals for comprehensive patient care. - Maintaining Records: Ensuring accurate maintenance of patient records. - Advancements and Technology: Keeping abreast of the latest advancements in optometric practices and technology to provide up-to-date care.
