Job Description

Position Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Optical Engineer with expertise in ANSYS SPEOS and Siemens FloEFD to support the design, analysis, and optimization of optical systems.

This role involves using Ansys SPEOS to simulate and optimize the performance of optical components, including mainly lighting, displays, sensors, and thermal management systems for Automotive sector.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform optical simulations using Ansys SPEOS to evaluate and optimize lighting performance, creation of the lighting decoupling structure, stray light analysis, and photometric properties.
  • Conduct thermal analysis for optical and electronic systems to assess heat dissipation, thermal deformation, and material impact with Siemens FloEFD.
  • Optimize illumination and imaging systems by adjusting light guides, outcoupling structures, reflectors, lenses, and diffusers.
  • Validate optical designs against regulatory standards and customer specifications.
  • Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and software engineers to integrate optical designs into larger systems.
  • Analyze and interpret simulation results, providing recommendations for design improvements.
  • Assist in prototyping and experimental validation of optical systems.
  • Generate technical reports and documentation summarizing simulation methodologies and findings.


Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Optical Engineering, Physics, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience with Ansys SPEOS for optical simulation.
  • Experience with Siemens FloEFD for electronical thermal simulation.
  • Knowledge of optical design principles, including light propagation, reflections, refractions, and scattering.
  • Familiarity with thermal management techniques in optical and electronical systems.
  • Proficiency in additional tools like Ansys Mechanical, Fluent, Zemax, TracePro, or COMSOL is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of material properties affecting optical and thermal performance.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Experience with interior lighting components in vehicles.


Preferred Experience:

  • Automotive lighting, AR/VR, LiDAR.
  • Experience in validating optical and thermal models with experimental data.
  • Knowledge of optical measurement techniques and instrumentation.
