Operation theater technician

Job Summary:

The OT Technician will be responsible for assisting in the preparation and maintenance of the Operating Theatre (OT) environment at Dr. Kamini Rao Hospitals. The role involves supporting fertility treatments, endoscopy, hysteroscopy, and deliveries. The OT Technician will ensure that all instruments and equipment are sterilized and operational, working closely with the clinical team to deliver optimal patient care and maintain high standards of infection control and safety.

Key Responsibilities:

• Preparation of Operating Theatre:
• Prepare and set up the OT for surgeries including IVF, endoscopy, hysteroscopy, and obstetric deliveries.
• Ensure all surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies are sterilized and in working condition before procedures.
• Maintain a sterile and organized environment in the OT.

Assistance During Procedures:

• Assist surgeons and gynecologists during surgical procedures, providing necessary instruments and equipment.
• Ensure sterile techniques are maintained throughout the procedure.
• Assist with anesthesia setup and patient positioning as required

Post-Operative Care:

• Clean and re-sterilize the OT after each procedure.
• Dispose of bio-hazardous waste safely and adhere to infection control protocols.
• Assist in the transfer of patients from the OT to recovery areas, when necessary

Equipment Maintenance:

• Maintain and monitor OT equipment such as endoscopes, hysteroscopes, and anesthesia machines.
• Report any equipment malfunctions and ensure regular checks are performed

Documentation:

• Accurately document surgical procedures, equipment use, and sterilization records.
• Support the clinical team in maintaining patient data related to surgeries

Collaboration:

• Work closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and nursing staff to ensure smooth OT operations and patient care.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Education: Diploma/Certification in OT Technology or a related medical field.
• Experience: 3-5 years of experience in an OT environment, especially in fertility treatments and gynecological procedures.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in handling OT instruments and equipment, sterilization, and infection control practices.
• Soft Skills: Strong teamwork, communication, and attention to detail.
• Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) or Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification is advantageous.

Key Competencies:

• Expertise in OT procedures related to fertility treatments, endoscopy, hysteroscopy, and deliveries.
• Ability to maintain sterility and infection control in the OT.
• Efficient time management and adaptability in a fast-paced clinical setting.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹250,000.00 - ₹400,000.00 per year
