Job Title: Team Lead – Medical Coder
Location: Vizag (Visakhapatnam), Andhra Pradesh

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Team Lead – Medical Coder to join our team at the Vizag office. The Team Lead will oversee a group of medical coders, ensure accurate and timely coding, monitor quality and productivity, provide guidance, and act as the main point of contact between team members and management.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise, mentor, and train a team of medical coders to achieve defined quality, accuracy, and productivity targets.
• Allocate work, track team performance, and ensure deadlines are consistently met.
• Conduct regular audits of coded charts to maintain compliance with industry standards (ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS, etc.) and client requirements.
• Provide feedback, coaching, and development plans for team members.
• Participate in the recruitment, onboarding, and ongoing training of medical coders.
• Serve as a subject-matter expert, assisting team members with complex coding issues and escalations.
• Liaise with management and other departments to communicate updates, process changes, and client requirements.
• Prepare and share performance reports, highlight concerns, and work on corrective actions as needed.
• Stay updated on changes in coding guidelines, payer requirements, and regulatory policies.
• Ensure adherence to data privacy and confidentiality requirements at all times.

Requirements:

• Graduate in Life Sciences, Paramedical Science, or related field. Advanced degrees/certifications (CPC, CCS, CCA, etc.) preferred.
• Minimum 8-12 years of experience in medical coding with at least 3-5 years in a supervisory or Team Lead role.
• In-depth knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT/HCPCS, and medical terminology.
• Strong team management, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
• Hands-on experience with medical coding software, EHRs, and MS Office tools.
• Ability to work independently and under tight deadlines.
• Commitment to accuracy, confidentiality, and ethical coding practices.

Preferred:

• Previous experience working for US healthcare clients.
• Exposure to denial management and revenue cycle management processes.
• Active coding certification(s).

Work Hours:
Rotational Shift (with flexibility as per business requirements)

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹1,000,000.00 - ₹1,200,000.00 per year
