Job Description

Role Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and empathetic Onco Physiotherapist who is passionate about working with cancer patients across various stages of treatment. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in improving patient quality of life, functional independence, and long-term well-being through tailored physiotherapy interventions.

This role demands both clinical competence and emotional intelligence to support patients and families with sensitivity and professionalism.

Key Responsibilities:

Clinical Care:

  • Conduct comprehensive physiotherapy assessments for oncology patients (inpatients and outpatients) at various stages: pre-treatment, during treatment, and post-treatment.
  • Design and implement individualized rehabilitation programs to address issues such as:
  • Cancer-related fatigue
  • Lymphedema management
  • Post-surgical recovery (e.g., mastectomy, thoracic surgeries, head & neck cancers)
  • Neuropathy, deconditioning, pain management, and mobility impairments
  • Provide therapy for patients undergoing chemotherapy, radiotherapy, bone marrow transplants, and palliative care.
  • Educate patients and caregivers on safe exercises, mobility strategies, energy conservation, and self-care.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (oncologists, surgeons, nurses, nutritionists, psychologists, palliative care) to ensure integrated care.
  • Monitor patient progress and update rehabilitation goals accordingly.
  • Maintain detailed clinical documentation and participate in patient review meetings.

Supportive Care & Communication:

Offer empathetic support to patients coping with physical and emotional challenges.

Counsel and motivate patients to engage actively in their recovery.

Clinical Governance & Research:

Ensure compliance with institutional protocols and evidence-based practice.

Participate in clinical audits, patient feedback collection, and service improvement initiatives.

Engage in research, case studies, or publications related to oncology rehabilitation (optional but encouraged).

Stay updated with the latest advancements in onco-rehabilitation through continued professional development.

Qualifications & Skills:

Educational Qualification: Bachelor’s or Master’s in Physiotherapy from a recognized institution.

Experience: Minimum 2–4 years of clinical experience, with at least 1–2 years specifically in oncology rehabilitation or palliative care settings.

Certification or training in Oncology Rehabilitation, Lymphedema Management, or Palliative Physiotherapy is highly desirable.

Excellent clinical reasoning, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work empathetically with patients facing terminal illness or complex medical conditions.

Strong collaboration skills and comfort working in a multidisciplinary environment.

Pay: ₹18,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
