Job Description

ROLEPURPOSE & OBJECTIVE


  • Thisrole is primarily responsible for u nderwritinghigh ticket and open market loans in the field through thoroughassessment and personal discussion with borrower and / orco-borrower and unsecured loans of the microfinance and ruralbusiness vertical

  • Theincumbent works on maintaining successand growth of products by adhering to defined policy and processfor loan approval and creditpolicies and processes are followed effectively by sourcingstaffs and appraisers.

  • ILDisbursement of Rs. 2-3 Cr in a month and manage IL portfolio of12-15 Cr.
  • SupportIL business of 3-4 Branches
KEYDUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE ROLE
Business
  • Underwritehigh ticket and open market loans in the field through thoroughassessment and personal discussion with borrower and / orco-borrower.
  • Underwriteboth unsecured and secured loans of the microfinance and ruralbusiness vertical as below
  • Individualloans Business, Home improvement, Higher Education loans
  • KCC,agriculture and livestock loans
  • Maintainssuccess and growth of these products by adhering to definedpolicy and process for loan approval.
  • Maintaincredit policies and processes are followed effectively bysourcing staffs and appraisers.
  • Conductbusiness place, office, residence and farm visits of theapplicants based on the product and purpose of the loan. Conductreference checks with customers /suppliers / vendors / dealers.Assess repayment capacity, character and cash flow of theapplicant.
  • Maintaincollection of relevant and proper documents. Maintain adherenceto internal and regulatory policies / compliances like KYC etc.
  • Sanctionthe files appraised by the sales / distribution team throughthorough verification of the documents and assessment by theappraiser of the loan.
  • Conductsample TVR and PDs of the cases appraised by the sales team alsos hadow appraiser on asample basis
  • Escalatedeviations for necessary approval as per the deviation matrix.Observe for triggers in documents and escalate documents withissues to FCU team.
  • Decisionon loan applications as per credit approval grid, deviationmatrix and bureau matrix
  • Responsiblefor portfolio quality of the loans underwritten for 12 MOB.
  • Maintaindaily productivity with respect to personal discussions, qualitycheck of applications, sample visits and checks etc as per theset KRA.
  • Impartingtraining to the microfinance team on the group lending,individual lending and other lending products creditpolicies, processes and systems, including regular trainings onchanges / refreshers.
  • Monitoringrejections from field, guide the branch staff to control the sameand maintain higher number of Straight through applications frombranches.
  • Report/Escalate critical issues at field for necessary action as perpenalty matrix and maintain compliance of Audit issues.
  • ConductLoan Utilization Checks for the recent disbursement cases as perpolicy.
  • Maintainto participate and drive the successful implementation of technology based projects at backend and field
  • Planand address issues across Poor, High Risk and Critical branchesand maintain good risk management at the branches
  • MaintainsPAR and provision are maintained within the budget.
  • Engagein collections for recovery, follow up for Incremental overduesand non-starters
  • Sanctionthe files appraised by the sales / distribution team throughthorough verification of the documents and assessment by theappraiser of the loan.
  • Decisionon loan applications as per credit approval grid, deviationmatrix and bureau matrix
  • Responsiblefor portfolio quality of the loans underwritten for 12 months ofbooking.
  • Impartingtraining to the microfinance team on the group lending,individual lending and other lending products creditpolicies, processes and systems, including regular trainings onchanges / refreshers.

  • MaintainsPAR and Provision are maintained within the acceptablelimit/budget.
  • Maintainscustomer satisfaction by processing of loan applications withinthe TAT defined
  • Maintainadherence to all regulatory norms with respect to KYC,documentation and sanctioning of loans
  • Maintainup to date knowledge of all the product of the geography
  • Quicklylearn of new products and systems being introduced and implementin the field.
  • Networkingwith other NBFCs / Banks to have a deeper understanding of theIndustry and its perspectives
  • Undertakebusiness sub sector or occupation study and survey of branchworking areas.

Customer
  • Maintainscustomer satisfaction by processing of loan applications withinthe TAT defined
  • Understandcustomers need & repayment capacity & makeappropriate loan decisions and recommend right product and loanamount to right customer
  • Maintainthat credit responds to branch & customers queries and issuestimely, thereby ensuring good service to customers throughefficient processing of applications
  • Undertakevisits in other financial institutions for timely resolution ofissues relating customer or staffs of other institution
  • Engagewith customer for any feedback on the products, policy andprocess
Internalprocess
  • Maintainadherence to all regulatory norms with respect to KYC &Documentation, Customer Selection and Sanctioning of loans
  • Maintaincompleteness of post disbursement documents, follow up for ifgaps any
  • Reviewbranch working areas, negative areas, no-go areas and negativecustomer list
  • Maintainthat the Issue/ deviations / policy/ process violation areescalated appropriately to the concerned department andsupervisors for implementation of penalty matrix.
  • Attendaudit closure meetings to understand identified issues & takenecessary corrective measures.
  • Maintainand update activity trackers Personal discussions,Quality check of files shadow visits, sample checks, trainings,LUCs, escalations, deviations, branch errors
Learning& Performance
  • Maintainup to date knowledge of all the products and the geography
  • Upgradeself and branch team about changes happening in the market
  • Newproducts being introduced and new systems being adopted to belearnt quickly and to be adopted.
  • Keepupdated with SLBC / DLC meetings & annual reports forinformation on investment on different types of crops for KCC /Agri limits. Keep abreast with ongoing farming operations in thefield & market.
  • Networkingwith other NBFCs / Banks to have a deeper understanding of theIndustry and its perspectives
  • Undertakebusiness sub sector study and underwrite cases at field
  • Maintainnecessary feedback is given to supervisors on regular basis aboutthe credit policies, processes and systems for effective andefficient underwriting
  • Improvethe probing skills to identify any issues in the field and reportcritical findings / observations for necessary action.
  • Ensuringvisits in branches of other clusters to maintain understandingand learning through experience


MINIMUMREQUIREMENTS OF KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS


Educational
Qualifications
  • Graduationor Post Graduation Preferably in Commerce, Accounting, Economics,Mathematics or Business Management


Experience
  • 2-4years of experience preferably in field credit or sales of anyfinancial products

FunctionalSkills
  • Knowledgeof credit underwriting in unsecured and secured loans
  • Businessanalysis skills and document verification skills
  • Proficientin reading / understanding financial statements
  • KYCnorms/guidelines for high ticket size loans
  • Basicknowledge of security documents and process for - hypothecationand mortgage of property
