Observability Tools Administrator

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and manage end-to-end monitoring solutions using

  Datadog

  ,

  New Relic

  , and

  Splunk SignalFx

  .
• Configure and maintain agents, integrations, custom metrics, synthetic monitoring, and dashboards.
  
• Develop and maintain custom dashboards, alerts, service maps, anomaly detection rules, and automated alerting tied to

  SLAs/SLOs

  .
• Implement

  APM (Application Performance Monitoring)

  ,

  Infrastructure Monitoring

  ,

  RUM (Real User Monitoring)

  , and

  Synthetic Monitoring

  .
• Integrate observability platforms with

  ITSM tools

  (e.g., ServiceNow), collaboration tools (e.g., Slack, Teams), and incident management platforms.
• Work with

  cloud environments

  (AWS, Azure, GCP) to monitor performance and optimize costs.
• Deploy and manage

  OpenTelemetry

  collectors and configure exporters to Datadog, New Relic, or SignalFx.
• Automate monitoring configurations using

  Infrastructure as Code (IaC)

  tools and scripting (e.g.,

  Ansible

  ,

  Terraform

  ,

  Python

  ).
• Analyze logs, metrics, and traces to troubleshoot issues and identify patterns or anomalies.
  
• Collaborate with DevOps, SRE, and application teams to define and implement monitoring requirements.
  
• Ensure compliance with data retention and privacy policies within observability tools.
  
• Provide internal training, support, and documentation for effective use of monitoring platforms.
  
• Stay up-to-date with the latest observability trends, tools, and best practices.
  

Required Skills & Experience:

• 3–6 years

  of hands-on experience with observability tools:

• Strong understanding of:

• Infrastructure Monitoring

• RUM (Real User Monitoring)

• Synthetic Monitoring

• Experience with

• Proficient in

  log analysis

  metrics collection strategies

  , and

  anomaly detection

  .
• Solid understanding of

  distributed systems

  microservices

  Kubernetes

  environments.
• Hands-on experience in configuring:

• Knowledge of
