Observability Engineer

As an Observability Engineer at NTT DATA, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the reliability, availability, and performance of systems and applications. Your responsibilities will include: - Enhancing system reliability by leveraging automation, redundancy, and industry best practices. - Monitoring system performance and health, promptly responding to incidents to minimize downtime. - Conducting root cause analysis of incidents and implementing preventative measures to avoid recurrence. - Collaborating with development teams to design and deploy scalable and reliable services. - Optimizing performance and resource utilization across different systems and services. - Designing, implementing, and managing observability platforms such as Splunk, Grafana, AppDynamics, etc. - Developing and maintaining dashboards, alerts, and reports to offer transparency into application performance and health. - Utilizing Application Performance Management (APM) tools like AppDynamics, Elastic APM, etc. - Collaborating with development, operations, and other Tech teams to establish monitoring strategies. - Ensuring end-to-end traceability of all transactions and operations within the applications. - Identifying and proactively resolving issues before user impact, ensuring high availability and reliability. - Optimizing performance monitoring and troubleshooting processes to enhance response times and system reliability. - Keeping abreast of the latest trends and technologies in observability and monitoring tools. - Providing training and guidance to team members on observability and monitoring best practices. Qualifications Required: - 6+ years of Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through work experience and education. - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. - Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools (e.g., Grafana, Splunk, AppDynamics). - Understanding of networking, security best practices, and performance tuning. - Proven experience as an Observability Engineer or similar role. - Strong expertise in Splunk, including creating complex queries, dashboards, and reports. - Experience with AppDynamics or similar application performance monitoring tools. - Proficient in end-to-end traceability and observability best practices. - Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and their monitoring tools. - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. - Excellent communication and teamwork abilities. - Experience working in Python. - Knowledge in writing queries in SQL.
