Description
As a Product Development Engineer at our company, you will play a crucial role in the new product design and development process from the initial stage to production. Your responsibilities will include: - Benchmarking the product to ensure competitiveness in the market. - Testing and recording performance of components, products, and manufacturing methods. - Analyzing and resolving technical issues associated with components, products, manufacturing methods, and performance. - Preparing bill of materials (BOM), design specifications, and raw materials specifications. - Conducting failure mode and risk analysis according to ISO 13485 standards. - Verifying and validating product designs and maintaining records. - Ensuring that manufacturing performance and quality goals are met. - Reviewing and maintaining documentation history files (DHF). - Improving existing product manufacturing processes and anticipating the need for new products and fixtures. - Involvement in assembly, troubleshooting, testing, and repair activities of our products. - Providing instruction and support to Manufacturing and QA teams on manufacturing techniques, procedures, and QC inspections. - Identifying replacement components for obsolescence or cost reduction and coordinating with vendors. - Assuring timely manufacturing, packaging, and delivery of new products. - Sourcing and implementing improvements in manufacturing procedures. - Coordinating relationships with vendors and contractors. - Driving on-going process improvement projects to increase yields, reduce cycle time, lower costs, and enhance product quality and reliability. Qualifications required for this role include: - Bachelor of Engineering or Equivalent degree. - Minimum 5 years of experience in the medical device industry. - Strong knowledge of medical device product design and development processes. - Familiarity with injection multi-cavity injection mould, die, fixture, and machine design. - Understanding of design and drawing change control procedures. - Ability to assess the feasibility of design modifications and troubleshoot to improve product reliability. - Experience in interfacing with cross-functional teams. - Good communication skills, both verbal and written. - Knowledge of ISO 13485 / MDR 2017 standards. - Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills, working effectively as a team member. - Desirable proficiency in CAD software, specifically Solid Works.
