As a Passive Technician, your role involves the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of passive network infrastructure. This includes fiber optics, structured cabling, racks, patch panels, conduits, and related components. Your responsibility is to ensure that physical network systems are installed efficiently, securely, and per industry standards. Key Responsibilities: - Installation & Maintenance: - Install, terminate, and test fiber optic and copper cables (Cat5e, Cat6, etc.). - Set up racks, patch panels, conduits, and cable trays in commercial and industrial settings. - Perform splicing, fusion, and connectorization of fiber optics. - Testing & Troubleshooting: - Use OTDR (Optical Time-Domain Reflectometer), VFL (Visual Fault Locator), and Fluke testers for fiber and copper cable testing. - Diagnose and repair cable faults, breakages, and connectivity issues. - Documentation & Compliance: - Maintain cable labeling, diagrams, and reports. - Ensure installations comply with TIA/EIA, BICSI, and industry safety standards. - Collaboration & Coordination: - Work closely with network engineers, project managers, and IT teams. - Coordinate with vendors and suppliers for materials and equipment.,
