Network Migration Engineer (Contractor) Role Overview: We are seeking an experienced Network Engineer contractor with advanced skills in network configuration, routing protocols, and troubleshooting to support our router migration project. The successful candidate will be responsible for migrating customer services from Nokia 7750 SR12 routers to Nokia 7750 SR-2s routers across our global datacenter locations. Responsibilities: Execute bulk migrations of customer services from legacy Nokia 7750 SR12 routers to Nokia 7750 SR-2s routers. Initially support migrations in the US, followed by regions in EMEA and APAC. Prepare detailed configuration cut sheets prior to migrations for use during scheduled maintenance windows. Conduct service migrations, including configuring new routers, shutting down services on legacy routers, and verifying the successful transition of customer services post-migration. Coordinate with remote hands technicians in datacenters, guiding fiber cable moves, and validating physical and logical connectivity. Work independently to perform complex configuration changes, validations, and troubleshooting, ensuring minimal downtime and service disruption. Required Skills and Qualifications: Advanced expertise in network configurations and routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, MPLS, etc.). Hands-on experience with Nokia routers and the Nokia SROS command-line interface (CLI). Proven ability to prepare and execute detailed configuration scripts and migration plans. Exceptional analytical and troubleshooting capabilities, particularly in complex network environments. Excellent verbal English communication skills for clear and effective coordination with remote datacenter technicians. Demonstrated ability to independently manage and successfully execute tasks under limited supervision. Comfort working during scheduled maintenance windows (midnight to 6 AM local time), ideally from an offshore location to align with US nighttime hours.
