Microsoft Purview / Collibra / Atlan Professional

Microsoft Purview, Collibra, Atlan, Informatica Axon, or IBM IG Catalog remote contract

Key Responsibilities

• Implement and manage data governance frameworks using Microsoft Purview, Collibra, Atlan , or similar tools.
• Develop automation workflows and scripts using PowerShell, Azure Functions, Logic Apps, and REST APIs.
• Integrate data governance platforms with cloud data pipelines (Azure Data Factory, dbt , Talend).
• Manage and optimize data cataloging, metadata management, and policy automation.
• Configure and monitor sensitivity labels, policy management, and DLP solutions in Microsoft Purview.
• Support compliance initiatives including Insider Risk Management, Records Management, and eDiscovery.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure data quality, lineage tracking, and governance alignment.
• Provide documentation, audit readiness, and technical support for compliance processes.

Primary Skills (Mandatory)

• Hands-on experience with at least one: Microsoft Purview, Collibra, Atlan , Informatica Axon, or IBM IG Catalog
• Strong knowledge of REST APIs (Mandatory)
• Experience with Azure Data Factory, dbt , or Talend
• Proficiency in PowerShell, Azure Functions, and Logic Apps
• Experience with Data Loss Prevention (DLP) and Policy Management in Microsoft Purview
• Familiarity with eDiscovery, Audit, DSPM, and Unified Catalogs
• Preferred Skills
• Experience with automation and integration frameworks in Azure or hybrid environments.
• Knowledge of Information Barriers, Compliance Manager, and Lifecycle Management.
• Strong understanding of data classification, lineage, and metadata automation.
• Excellent problem-solving, documentation, and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or Data Engineering.
• 4+ years of relevant experience in data governance and compliance automation.
• Prior experience in remote or distributed team environments is a plus.
