Metallurgical Engineer

As a Metallurgical Engineer, your role will involve conducting metallurgical testing of SG & CI castings, including microstructure analysis, hardness, tensile, impact, etc. You will be responsible for performing chemical analysis of molten metal using spectrometer and wet analysis methods. Ensuring that metallurgical properties meet required standards and customer specifications will be a key part of your job. Additionally, you will prepare and maintain metallurgical reports and records of test results, monitor inoculation, nodularity, and other metallurgical parameters during production, and investigate metallurgical failures to suggest corrective actions. Your support in process improvements for casting quality and yield enhancement will be crucial. Furthermore, you will be responsible for ensuring proper calibration and maintenance of lab equipment such as spectrometer, microscope, hardness tester, etc., and coordinating with production and quality teams for continuous quality improvement. Qualifications Required: - Knowledge of SG Iron & CI casting metallurgy - Hands-on experience in metallurgical lab instruments (Spectrometer, Microscope, Hardness Tester, etc.) - Understanding of foundry processes, solidification, and heat treatment - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills - Report preparation and documentation skills - Good communication and teamwork ability The salary for this position is as per industry standards and negotiable based on experience.
