MERN Stack Developer

A MERN Stack Developer is responsible for designing, building, and maintaining robust, scalable web applications using MongoDB, Express.js, React.js, and Node.js. You will work across front-end and back-end to implement features, APIs, and ensure high performance and reliability. You’ll collaborate with product, design, and other engineering teams to deliver clean, efficient code, solve problems, and evolve the technical stack.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop the front-end of applications using React.js, managing component state, props, hooks, and UI logic.
• Build and maintain backend services/APIs using Node.js & Express.js.
• Design, build, and optimize the database layer using MongoDB.
• Integrate with third-party APIs and services.
• Write and maintain unit tests/integration tests to ensure code quality.
• Debug application issues, track performance bottlenecks, and optimize.
• Collaborate with UI/UX designers to implement responsive, mobile-friendly interfaces.
• Participate in code reviews, design reviews, and ensure adherence to best practices, security, and standards.
• Deploy applications, set up CI/CD pipelines, work with version control (e.g. Git).
• Maintain documentation of %technical designs%, APIs, and system architecture.
• Mentor junior developers (for mid/senior level roles).

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Strong skills in JavaScript / TypeScript, ES6+ features.
• Proficiency in React.js, with understanding of component lifecycle, hooks, state management (e.g. Redux, Context API).
• Experience with Node.js and Express.js or similar backend frameworks.
• Solid experience using MongoDB (schema design, aggregation, indexing, etc.).
• Good understanding of RESTful APIs (or GraphQL, if used).
• Knowledge of front-end technologies: HTML5, CSS3, responsive design (media queries, Flexbox/Grid).
• Familiarity with version control tools (Git).
• Comfortable with debugging, testing (unit/integration), error handling.
• Understanding of deployment / DevOps basics: CI/CD, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) or containers (Docker), etc.
