MEP Manager and Engineer (Mechanical/ Electrical)

1)Role & responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

Planning and Initiation:

• To interface with a multi discipline project team, to advise the team and fully integrate and coordinate the MEP works into the overall construction process.
• To manage and lead the MEP works acting as the facilitator between the site project team and the subcontracted works
• Understand the design intent and suggest the design team in case of improvements prior to BOQ attachment and tender initiation
• Establish the work flow sequence of the package in coordination with other departments (CM, Finishing, etc.) by planning the activities with respect to the Overall Project Time schedule and ensure quality and progress as per the timelines.
• Prepare execution strategy for the project by understanding requirements of all stakeholders
• Prepare and monitor risk assessment register regularly for the project
• Prepare Manpower and P & E deployment schedule
• Ensure that the sub contract works are constructed in accordance with the contract documents including drawings and specifications.
• Ensure manpower is aligned as per the project schedule
• In conjunction with the commercial team manage the commercial and financial issues with the contractor

Safety & Quality:

• Implement Project safety policy & Project Quality plan without any dilution with the help of Safety & Quality Manager
• Anticipate, plan and monitor all work procedure keeping safety in mind
• Maintain proper standards at labour camp and their welfare
• Implement a project specific quality assurance plan at each stage of the project.
• Keep tracking of quality trends in check at regular intervals

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:

• Dynamic, flexible personality with the will to succeed regardless of the difficulties.
• Strong knowledge of scheduling/planning and tracking of progress
• Developed management skills with the ability to work as the as an integrated member of a team of managers, engineers and tradesmen making a positive contribution to team spirit, to complete projects with quality, on time and profit.
• Detailed engineering and construction process knowledge in air conditioning, electrical, firefighting and plumbing services for commercial and light industrial buildings.
• Awareness/ Exposure on various Construction/System methodologies

Experience - 4 to 7 Years

Key Responsibilities

• Participate where required in all aspects of the project management for the Electrical/Mechanical works.
• Manage and supervises the onsite works.
• Undertake the detailed short term planning and co-ordination at site in accordance with the master programme.
• Ensure that all information is available & materials are available at site to undertake the works.
• Ensure all materials are correctly stored at site and installed without damage.
• Arrange the required tools and equipment to be available at site.
• Control of the quality and technical correctness of the installation in accordance with the project quality assurance plan.
• Ensure that the works are carried out in a safe manner in accordance with the project safety plan.
• Co-ordinate with the main contractor and other sub-contractors at site.
• Set targets and monitors the productivity of the workforce at site.
• Arrange skills development and training for the foremen and site workforce.
• Monitors the production and quality of sub-contractors works at site.
• Identifies additional works at site and advises the Project Engineer.
• Identifies delays at site and notifies the Project Engineer.
• Implements the inspection and test plan and obtains the supervising engineers approval at each stage of the works.
• Maintains records of the changes to the working drawings to enable the record drawings to be produced.
