Job Description

Key Responsibilities

A. Planning & Coordination

  • Review MEP drawings, BOQs, specifications, and project schedules.
  • Coordinate with architects, structural teams, and civil site engineers for seamless integration of MEP works.
  • Prepare weekly/monthly execution plans for MEP activities.
  • Raise RFIs/TQs for design discrepancies or missing details.

B. Site Execution & Supervision

  • Ensure timely execution of Electrical, HVAC, Fire Fighting, Plumbing & STP/ETP works.
  • Closely monitor contractor manpower, material usage, and productivity.
  • Verify installation methodology as per approved drawings and standards.
  • Conduct daily site inspections and ensure quality workmanship.

C. Material & Vendor Management

  • Review and verify material requisitions as per approved specifications.
  • Assist in vendor assessment, technical evaluations, and material approvals.
  • Monitor inventory and coordinate with procurement for timely delivery of materials.

D. Quality Assurance & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with IS codes, NBC, NEMA, NFPA, and project specifications.
  • Conduct inspections, testing & commissioning (T&C) of MEP systems.
  • Verify checklists for Electrical panels, cabling, HVAC ducting, pump rooms, WTP/STP, fire pumps, sprinklers, hydrants, etc.
  • Maintain site QA/QC documentation and ensure NCRs are closed on time.

E. Safety & Statutory Approvals

  • Enforce HSE protocols during MEP work execution (especially electrical & fire safety).
  • Coordinate for statutory approvals:
  • Electrical Inspector
  • Fire NOC
  • Lift Inspector
  • Pollution Control Board (for DG, STP)
  • Ensure all installations are compliant with regulations.

F. Coordination with Contractors & Consultants

  • Attend MEP coordination meetings at site
  • Resolve technical issues with contractors on priority.
  • Track contractor progress vs timelines and highlight delays immediately.

G. Documentation & Reporting

  • Maintain AS-BUILT drawings and MEP documentation.
  • Prepare daily progress reports (DPR) and weekly progress reports (WPR).
  • Monitor project milestones and update management regularly.
  • Maintain test certificates, checklists, measurement sheets, and quality logs.

H. Testing & Commissioning

  • Plan and supervise system commissioning for:
  • Electrical distribution systems
  • HVAC systems
  • Fire Fighting systems
  • Plumbing networks & pumps
  • STP/WTP/RO
  • Ensure proper handover to facility/operations team.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Education

  • Diploma / B. Tech / BE in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering.

Experience

  • 0.6–5 years of experience in MEP execution at building construction sites (residential, commercial, or industrial).
  • Experience with high-rise buildings preferred.
