Job Description

Role Overview: As an MEP Engineer, you will be responsible for planning and designing Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems. Your role involves developing policies, standards, inspection procedures, and evaluation tools for MEP matters. You will also be expected to prepare, review drawings, specifications, and cost estimates for mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems. Key Responsibilities: - Review plans and specifications according to the project plan - Manage and oversee the work of subordinate staff and contact architects or engineers - Prepare plans, details, specifications, and cost estimates of plumbing, heating, ventilating, air conditioning, and general piping systems - Provide technical advice to staff designers, supervisors, inspectors, and contracting service providers regarding installation and maintenance of MEP systems - Analyze mechanical, electrical, and plumbing engineering problems and formulate solutions - Identify problems in design, plan, manage, and deliver multiple projects - Plan, organize, review, and evaluate the work of consultants, contractors, and others - Provide technical advice to the Project Director on mechanical services aspects affecting construction progress - Review contractors" construction schedule with regards to MEP services and report to the Project Director - Manage the day-to-day work of the MEP team - Ensure proper filing/logging of MEP documentation in line with project guidelines - Advise on LEED issues and ensure appropriate documentation is provided - Participate in risk workshops and report any associated risks - Review contractors" installation method statements and shop drawings for compliance - Prepare technical clarifications to suit specific construction and coordination issues - Undertake project site observation of mechanical services works for compliance - Monitor and promote health and safety on the site - Undertake off-site inspections of equipment and materials as necessary - Witness system testing and commissioning, and review results - Maintain a list of mechanical services defects for remedial action - Prepare project snagging list for Contractors" action - Attend project and site progress meetings as directed - Provide advice on variable costs related to mechanical services claimed by the Contractor Qualifications and Skills: - Mechanical or Electrical University degree in Engineering - Working knowledge of plans, prints, specifications, and schematics - At least 2 years of experience in mechanical, electrical, and plumbing - Construction procedures and practices - Computer literate - Excellent communication and organizational skills,
