Role Description

Medical Transcriptionist

• Listening to recorded dictations from physicians and other healthcare professionals and transcribing them accurately into written reports.
• Editing and proofreading medical documents for grammatical, clarity, and formatting accuracy.
• Ensuring all transcribed reports comply with AIMS Hospital’s documentation standards and confidentiality policies.
• Reviewing and verifying patient information and medical terminology for consistency and correctness.
• Maintaining records and archives of transcribed reports for easy retrieval.
• Communicating with healthcare staff to clarify or resolve discrepancies in dictation.
• Meeting turnaround time requirements while maintaining exceptional accuracy and attention to detail.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in

  Medical Transcription

  ,

  Life Sciences

  , or a related field.
• Proven experience as a

  Medical Transcriptionist

  in a hospital or healthcare setting.
• Excellent command of

  English grammar

  ,

  medical terminology

  , and

  typing skills

  .
• Proficiency with transcription software, electronic health record (EHR) systems, and Microsoft Office tools.
• Strong listening, comprehension, and time management abilities.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive medical information with professionalism.
• Certification from a recognized medical transcription program (preferred).
