Medical Laboratory Technology

Job Purpose

The trainer is responsible for teaching, mentoring, and assessing students enrolled in the Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) program. The role involves delivering both theoretical knowledge and practical training so that students become competent in performing laboratory diagnostics safely, accurately, and in line with industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Teaching & Training: Deliver classroom lectures on hematology, microbiology, pathology, biochemistry, and other related subjects. Conduct laboratory sessions where students practice sample collection, preparation, diagnostics, instrument handling, and quality control. Demonstrate the use of equipment and proper lab procedures.
• Assessment & Evaluation: Prepare and administer tests, quizzes, and practical exams. Monitor and record student progress, attendance, and performance. Provide constructive feedback and extra support to students who need additional help.
• Curriculum Development: Contribute to updating and improving course materials, lab manuals, and training methodologies. Ensure the curriculum reflects current diagnostic practices and technological advancements.
• Laboratory Management & Safety: Maintain laboratory equipment, ensure calibration, and oversee safe handling of samples, reagents, and instruments. Enforce bio-safety protocols, sterilization, and waste disposal measures.
• Student Mentorship: Guide students in professional ethics, communication, reporting, and soft skills. Support them in career orientation and help prepare them for internships or job placements.
• Administrative Tasks: Coordinate with diagnostic labs and healthcare facilities for internships and practical exposure. Maintain accurate academic records. Participate in faculty meetings, training workshops, and institutional activities.

Pay: ₹8,174.29 - ₹25,804.69 per month
