About the Role:

Sevalaya is looking for a proactive professional to manage media relations and award recognition initiatives. The role focuses on building strong connections with media houses, ensuring consistent coverage of Sevalaya’s work, and identifying award opportunities that highlight the organization’s impact.

Key Responsibilities

Media Outreach & Coordination:

• Build and maintain relationships with editors, journalists, and media professionals from print and e-media.
• Coordinate and ensure media coverage for Sevalaya’s events, projects, and milestones.
• Collaborate with the communications team on press releases, invites, and reports.
• Ensure all communications align with Sevalaya’s brand, values, and goals.

Awards & Recognition:

• Identify relevant local, national, and international award opportunities for Sevalaya’s initiatives.
• Draft compelling applications with strong narratives, data, and testimonials.
• Coordinate with internal teams for documentation and timely submission.
• Maintain an awards tracker and report on applications, results, and recognitions.

Skills & Attributes:

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong interpersonal, research, and organizational abilities
• Confident in public speaking and media interactions
• Willingness to travel locally and work flexible hours

Preferred Background:

Experience in media relations, journalism, or development communications, preferably in the NGO or social sector.
