Job Overview: Join our dynamic team as a Media Consultant, where you will spearhead our PR and media initiatives, driving awareness and support for our impactful causes. This role offers a unique opportunity to utilise your expertise in media strategy, forge partnerships with key stakeholders, and leverage various platforms to amplify the organisations message and mission. Roles and Responsibilities: Develop and implement comprehensive media strategies to enhance brand visibility and support organisational objectives. Cultivate relationships with editors, journalists, and news channels to secure coverage and promote the organisations initiatives. Pitch compelling story ideas and press releases to secure positive coverage of organisation's initiatives, events, and milestones. Monitor media coverage and industry trends to identify opportunities for strategic engagement and proactive outreach. Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams to ensure alignment of messaging and maximise media impact. Provide media training and support to spokespeople and staff members as needed. Develop and implement crisis communication plans to effectively manage and mitigate reputational risks in the event of negative media coverage or emergencies. Track and analyse media metrics to measure the effectiveness of PR efforts and inform future strategies. Stay abreast of emerging technologies and platforms to innovate media tactics and maintain relevance in a rapidly evolving landscape. Develop and manage the annual media budget, allocating resources strategically to maximise ROI and achieve organisational goals. Track expenditures and performance against budget targets, providing regular updates and recommendations for adjustments as needed.

Requirements: Strong network of media contacts across print, broadcast, and digital platforms. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrated success in securing media coverage and generating positive publicity for organisations or causes. Strategic thinker with a creative mindset and the ability to generate innovative ideas for media campaigns. Excellent project management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing priorities. Experience working in multicultural or international settings, with the ability to navigate cultural nuances and communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders. Adherence to organisational policies and guidelines, including those related to media relations, privacy, and data protection. Proficiency in media monitoring tools, analytics platforms, and Microsoft Office Suite. Passion for social impact and a commitment to the organisations mission and values. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or a related field; Master's degree preferred. Proven experience of 6-8 years in media relations, PR, or journalism, with a focus on strategic planning and execution.
