Media and Celebrity Projects Assistant

As an Assistant in PETA India's media and celebrity projects team based in Mumbai, your role is crucial in ensuring the smooth operation of various campaigns and events. Your primary responsibilities and duties will include: - Pitching PETA India's campaigns and events to the media, and making follow-up calls when necessary - Coordinating the preparation of news releases and pitches - Building, maintaining, and managing contact databases for the media and celebrity projects team - Managing a calendar of special dates related to media and celebrity projects - Maintaining an orderly inventory for media and celebrity project needs - Keeping all media and celebrity files and folders organized and easily accessible - Developing target lists for media coverage - Researching celebrity-related news and sharing relevant notes with staff members - Researching and suggesting contacts for photo shoots and other projects - Maintaining a collection of news clippings and ensuring timely distribution - Assisting in the coordination of photo shoots and other celebrity and media events - Participating in brainstorming meetings regarding media strategy and celebrity involvement - Preparing and maintaining meeting notes for the media and celebrity projects team - Performing any other duties assigned by the supervisor Qualifications required for this role include: - Minimum two (2) years of experience in media handling or public relations - Fluency in English and Hindi; knowledge of other local Indian languages is a plus - Thorough knowledge of animal rights issues and campaigns would be an added advantage - Demonstrated interest in and excellent working knowledge of the internet - Proven interest in media and celebrity news - Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail - Excellent written and verbal communication skills - Excellent telephone manner - Self-motivation and the ability to work well as part of a team - Ability to communicate professionally with a variety of people - Ability to take initiative, follow through, work well under pressure, and meet deadlines - Willingness to travel as required - Professional appearance and adherence to a healthy vegan lifestyle - Support for PETA India's philosophy and the ability to professionally advocate PETA India's positions on issues - Commitment to the objectives of the organization If you are ready to contribute to PETA India's mission and meet the qualifications mentioned above, please follow the instructions provided in the "How to Apply" section to submit your application.,
