Mechatronics Lab Technician at Mahindra University

Job Description

Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at Mahindra University is searching for well-organized, skillful Lab Technician in the fields of Mechatronics and Robotics to join the department and assist in lab courses of UG Mechatronics, PG robotics and academic and research projects. This is a hands-on position where you will work with hardware, software and embedded systems to bridge the gap between theoretical learning and practical application. The key responsibilities of the lab assistants are · Demonstration of mechatronics lab experiments and corresponding hardware. · Assistance in preparing lab manuals and making arrangements for conducting lab experiments. · Assistance in developing new experimental facilities. · Maintaining lab documentation and infrastructure. · Support for UG and PG students for prototype development. · Assist in academic and research projects. · Assisting in evaluation of lab records and lab experimental results. Skill set required · Programming microcontroller and microprocessor boards like Arduino, STM32, teensy and Raspberry etc., for interfacing with sensors, actuators and other electronic components. · Knowledge of using measurement devices, soldering, PCB design and fabrication. · Programming for Embedded systems (register level programming) and embedded protocols for mechatronics and robotic systems. · PLC programming (Ladder logic) and control of pneumatic and electro pneumatic systems. · Control of robotic systems, PID tuning etc. · Software skills- C, C++, ROS1/ROS2, python and MATLAB & Simulink (LabVIEW is plus). · Knowledge of robot kinematics and dynamics is a plus point. · Enthusiasm learn and implement new technologies, analytical thinking and problem-solving skills. Desired qualifications · B Tech in any one of the programmes Mechatronics and robotics, ECE, Electronics and instrumentation. The candidate with Masters in the same field is highly recommended. · Experience in industry in the areas robotics, ROS1/ROS2, robotic simulation tools (Gazebo, MoveIt, RViz) and autonomous navigation.
