Mechanical Maintenance Engineer

As a Maintenance Engineer at our Pharmaceutical Company in Nagpur, Maharashtra, your primary responsibility will be to ensure the reliable operation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical systems and equipment in our manufacturing facility. In this role, you will play a crucial part in performing preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting equipment issues, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards to uphold production efficiency and safety. Your key responsibilities will include conducting routine preventive maintenance, inspections, and repairs on a variety of mechanical systems such as HVAC, pumps, compressors, and conveyors. You will also be expected to diagnose mechanical failures, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime and ensure operational continuity. Furthermore, you will need to ensure that all maintenance activities adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), FDA, and other regulatory standards. Keeping accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders and equipment logs, will be essential. You will also be involved in assisting with the installation, testing, and commissioning of new mechanical equipment and systems, as well as managing spare parts inventory and recommending procurement to support maintenance schedules. Collaboration with production teams, quality assurance, and other engineering disciplines will be necessary to optimize equipment performance and support manufacturing goals. Additionally, you will need to adhere to safety protocols, conduct risk assessments, and implement measures to maintain a safe working environment. To qualify for this role, you should hold a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field and have a minimum of 3-5 years of experience in mechanical maintenance, preferably in a pharmaceutical or regulated manufacturing environment. Proficiency in maintaining and troubleshooting mechanical systems, knowledge of GMP, FDA regulations, and familiarity with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) will be required.
