Key Responsibilities

• Lead the

  mechanical engineering design

  of

  pumping stations

  ,

  treatment works

  , and

  pipeline infrastructure

  for water utilities, with optional involvement in

  gas utility systems

  .
• Deliver

  feasibility

  ,

  conceptual

  , and

  detailed design

  stages of mechanical systems for water and gas utility projects.
• Prepare

  risk registers

  ,

  technical reports

  , and other project documentation according to UK industry standards.
• Attend and lead

  client meetings

  , maintaining strong communication and project coordination.

• Independently produce and manage mechanical CAD drawings

  and layouts using

  AutoCAD

  (proficiency is mandatory).
• Ensure all mechanical designs and CAD outputs comply with relevant

  UK water and gas utility standards and health & safety requirements

  .

Essential Requirements

• Education

  : Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering (Master’s preferred).

• Experience

  : Minimum

  5-6 years

  post-graduate experience in mechanical design for water and/or gas utility infrastructure projects.

Technical Skills

• Solid background in

  mechanical design

  for

  water pumping stations

  ,

  treatment plants

  , and related mechanical systems.
• Experience with

  gas utilities

  , including

  pressure reduction stations

  ,

  governors

  , and associated mechanical systems, is highly desirable.

CAD Proficiency

• Mandatory proficiency in AutoCAD

  , with the ability to

  independently develop mechanical engineering drawings and layouts

  .

Communication

• Excellent spoken English for

  client-facing roles

  and team collaboration.
• Strong written English for producing reports, specifications, and technical documents.
• Proven ability to

  manage projects

  , coordinate design and CAD work, and report directly to WFS UK leadership.
