Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer with strong experience in piping and structural works in a steel plant or heavy industrial setting. The candidate will be responsible for planning, executing, and supervising mechanical construction and maintenance activities related to piping systems and structural components, ensuring quality, safety, and project timelines.

Key Responsibilities:

• Study and review engineering drawings, isometric plans, and P&IDs for piping and structure works.
• Supervise and coordinate fabrication, erection, and alignment of pipelines and structural steel components.
• Ensure proper selection and installation of pipes, fittings, supports, valves, and structural materials.
• Monitor contractor/vendor performance, progress, and adherence to standards and schedules.
• Prepare BOQ, material requirement plans, and coordinate with the procurement team.
• Ensure compliance with quality standards, welding procedures, and NDT requirements.
• Coordinate with other engineering teams (civil, electrical, instrumentation) to avoid conflicts.
• Implement and maintain safety protocols and risk assessments at the work site.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues during execution or maintenance stages.
• Maintain records of work progress, inspections, and as-built drawings.

Required Skills & Competencies:

• Strong knowledge of piping standards (ASME, ASTM, IS codes) and structural codes.
• Familiar with steel plant equipment layout and mechanical interface requirements.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical and structural drawings.
• Experience in managing field crews, subcontractors, and heavy lifting/erection plans.
• Familiar with welding techniques (SMAW, GTAW, MIG), WPS/PQR, and QA/QC procedures.
• Knowledge of AutoCAD, MS Project/Primavera (preferred), and MS Office.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
• 3–8 years of experience in piping and structural jobs in a steel plant or heavy industrial project.
• Certification in welding inspection (e.g., CSWIP, AWS) is an added advantage.

Work Environment:

• Field/site-based role in a heavy industrial environment.
• Will require extended hours during shutdowns or critical project phases.
• PPE and strict adherence to safety standards are mandatory.

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
