Job Description

As a Mechanical Engineer at Oceaneering India Center, you will contribute to product design and development from conceptualization to testing and certification, working under limited supervision. Your essential duties and responsibilities will include: - Studying inputs such as Functional Design Specifications, drawings, CAD models, and technical documents for product/design evaluation - Creating conceptual and detail designs, design calculations, manufacturing drawings, bills of materials, and technical documents based on customer inquiries and specifications - Establishing project/deliverable approach and schedule - Verifying compliance with strength and functional requirements through engineering analysis and calculations - Interpreting and applying industry codes and standards relevant to the product being designed - Refining and improving product designs through evaluation, validation, and development of new solutions - Performing tolerance stack-up analysis for simple problems - Preparing engineering calculations templates and processes - Generating technical documentation as part of engineering deliverables - Handling technical changes and updates in PLM/PDM systems - Communicating progress updates to customers and ensuring on-time delivery of engineering work with required quality - Resolving technical queries and assisting in the design approval process - Demonstrating initiative to achieve individual and team objectives Non-essential responsibilities include aligning individual goals with department and organizational objectives, complying with HR policies and procedures, and adhering to organizational HSE policies and practices. This position does not have direct supervisory responsibilities. Qualifications required for this role include a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering. Desired qualifications include familiarity with common CAE, CAD tools, and PLM/PDM software, basic knowledge of calculation software, familiarity with industry codes/standards, and working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
