Mechanical Engineer

As the Mechanical Systems Engineer, your primary responsibility will be to oversee the engineering, construction, commissioning, and maintenance of mechanical systems in greenfield projects within refinery, oil and gas, and carbon black manufacturing sectors. You will play a crucial role in ensuring safety, reliability, and strict adherence to project timelines and quality standards. Your key responsibilities will include executing structural, equipment, and piping construction works, understanding technical specifications, datasheets, and design documents, and fabricating and erecting structural and piping works. Your expertise in industry standards such as ASME, ASTM, and API will be essential for successful project delivery. In addition, you will be responsible for monitoring daily construction progress, ensuring quality, coordinating with contractors for timely mobilization of resources, and resolving on-site technical issues promptly. You will also play a vital role in vendor and resource management, coordinating material delivery, allocating manpower and equipment effectively, and optimizing resource allocation for efficient project execution. Safety culture and management will be a key focus area where you will implement BC Global health & safety standards, coordinate with multiple contractors to ensure alignment with project EHS requirements, and promote behavior-based safety and proactive hazard reporting. You will also be responsible for maintenance of mechanical systems, reviewing preventive & predictive maintenance schedules, monitoring plant equipment for improvement, ensuring compliance with shutdown maintenance, and analyzing non-conformances to implement CAPA. Your role will also involve documentation and reporting where you will document daily progress, issues, and resolutions, compile quality assurance and safety reports, ensure proper documentation of design changes and approvals, and maintain accurate records of permits, trainings, audits, incidents, and statutory compliance. Additionally, you will be responsible for maintaining legal compliance, consent condition compliance, engineering records, reports, and as-built documentation.
