This individual will be employed by a Professional Employer Organization (PEO), but doing work specifically for Vicarious Surgical. As a CAD drafter, you will create parts, assemblies, and drawings in Solidworks. You will be responsible for uploading all the CAD files into PDM. Additionally, you will help prepare DCOs (Document Change Orders) so that the CAD files can be reviewed, approved and released. You will be working from our Bangalore Office with our mechanical, manufacturing, and electrical engineering team. This role will be tasked with supporting mechanical development of equipment associated with our surgical robot. Working hours of Monday through Friday (Office hours start at 4PM to ensure significant overlap with US hours) Responsibilities Participate in all phases of product development, including but not limited to concept generation, detailed design, and manufacturing process development Manage a moderate scope of work including ownership of some subsystems within a larger piece of equipment Understand, analyze, and suggest design improvements to existing prototypes Work with internal and external resource to produce highly functional prototypes Be a helpful, collaborative team member Skills Needed Familiarity with electromechanical design Proficiency with solid modeling required, Solidworks preferred, experience with Master Modelling and complex surface modeling nice to have Ability to interact effectively with multiple stakeholders required Ability to produce, review and understand engineering drawings.GD&T and tolerance analyses experience preferred Understanding of Design for Manufacturing, Design for Inspection, and various assembly techniques required Comfort with and understanding of the interplay between various components of a complex, electromechanical system and collaboration with multiple functional groups desired Experience with medical device product development and the 510(k) submission process preferred Prior experience with test strategies to advance from prototypes to finished products helpful Sheet Metal, plastics experience helpful Ability to work independently and autonomously when necessary Ability to effectively communicate ideas and give/receive constructive feedback Prior experience working on a Robotics Systems and/or human input devices is a plus About You Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or related field 4 + years experience with Bachelor's Degree 2 + years experience with Master's Degree Passion for excellence in product development Enthusiasm, willingness to learn and a positive attitude!
