Mechanical Engineer 4

As a Mechanical Engineer at Lam, you will be part of the Customer Support Business Group, focusing on providing premier customer support to customers throughout their lifecycle with Lam. Your primary responsibility will involve designing and defining cutting-edge mechanical and electro-mechanical systems, conducting feasibility studies, testing, guiding teams in detailed design, and contributing crucial design information for shaping technology's packaging. Key Responsibilities: - Own and execute medium to high complex Mechanical sub-system/system projects to design, develop, optimize, and implement design solutions in Lam Products as part of NPD, Continuous Improvement Programs (CIP), cost reduction, and reliability improvement initiatives. - Collaborate with internal and external cross-functional teams to ensure product design objectives are met, validate designs through performance testing, and obtain approvals following the PDR process. - Lead program commitments aligning with established business processes and engineering due diligence (DFMA, DFMEA, tolerance, calculations, FEA static, DFX). - Design parts using various materials and coatings, work with suppliers to ensure manufacturing alignment with performance and cost objectives. - Ensure documentation consistency with SEMI, Lam Standards, and other applicable standards, as well as best-known methods (BKMs). - Perform analytical work characterizing and specifying designs, including heat transfer, stress, vibrations, fluid/gas dynamics, and manufacturability. - Develop and execute test plans to generate characterization data, validate design performance, and present reports/presentations at design reviews. Qualifications Required: - Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering with a minimum of 12 years of relevant experience. - Demonstrated leadership skills in decision-making and problem-solving, contributing to product/process differentiation through innovation. - Ability to conduct design reviews, seek approval collaboratively with stakeholders, and contribute to others" design.
