Job Description

POSITION OVERVIEW

  1. Coordinating effectively in all activities of Engineering Department for all types of Transformers and R & D for new and innovative products and attending to companys requirements.
  2. This role includes but is not limited to the development and execution of a strategy to create joint value propositions.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Monitor Key Performance Indicators of each team member and support them in critical processes to achieve individual goals and organizational requirements in time.
  2. Responsible for team building and skill enhancement.
  3. Prepare Weekly report for respective task.
  4. Prepare MIS for the respective tasks on monthly basis.
  5. Improvement and development of new drawings to achieve required standards and innovative ideas in design and manufacturing.
  6. Cost effective / Optimization of designs for all work orders.
  7. Planning in procurement of all special components parts for all types of transformers and follow up on supply quality control for faulty supply improvement and replacements.
  8. Periodically review the system in area of control for improvements and cost reduction.
  9. Monitor / follow up of tender enquiries and quotations to take care of customer requirements.
  10. Follow up / guide any deviations or corrections with respect to the approved drawings by customer as required.
  11. To effectively participate in technical discussions with customers internally and externally.
  12. Continuous Improvement of Projects relating to Engineering.
  13. Improving trend in cost control and periodically review the system for improvements and cost reduction.
  14. Avoid reworks and minimize wastages.
  15. Ensure transformer statutory and regulatory standards and monitor / maintain the records.
  16. Ensure all specifications and documentations are as per ISO standards.
  17. To study and organize the competency mapping for all employees in area of control.
  18. Organize design meetings on special purpose transformers.

ACCOUNTABILITIES AND PERFORMANCE MEASURES :

  1. Develop Key Performance Indicators that support the critical processes to achieve goals and objectives.
  2. Establish yearly goals and objectives, aligned with company business strategy.

ORGANIZATIONAL ALIGNMENT

  1. Reports to Head of Engineering.
  2. Closely coordinates company executive involvement with the partners as appropriate.
  3. This position have direct report staff assigned to support responsibilities within specific partner accounts.

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, ABILITIES & WORK CONDITIONS:

  1. Bachelor Degree (BE/B.Tech) in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent degree.
  2. Masters in Engineering or Business Administration preferable.
  3. Experience in transformers industry.
  4. Minimum 15 to 20 years experience in related field / transformer industry.
  5. Commanding, credibility, integrity, discretion, diplomacy, flexibility, emotional intelligence.
  6. Familiarity with Electrical & Mechanical Engineering, specifically the design and building of both Oil & Dry-type transformers (Power & Distribution) & special transformers.
  7. Full understanding of Indian regulatory standards for transformers and familiarity of IEC, ANSI and other standards.
  8. Excellent fundamentals in electrical or power engineering and in particular transformer engineering. Knowledge in power electronics and applications engineering is an advantage.
  9. Cost effective and highest reliability product designs / requirements as per customer specifications.
  10. Excellent oral & written communication skills, interpersonal and motivational skills.
  11. Effective leadership skills, with strong focus on operations and business processes.
  12. Effective attention to detail and high degree of accuracy.
  13. Sound analytical thinking, planning, prioritization and execution skills.
  14. Ability to analyze and make recommendations, provide guidance to effectively bring projects to completion.
  15. Willingness to travel and work in a global team of professionals.
  16. Depth of knowledge to understand global scenario in line with HPS stand.
  17. Should have good knowledge on MS office (Word, Excel with Macros, Access, Viso, Outlook) to analyze using spreadsheets & make presentations, preferably any ERP, AutoCAD, Solid works or 3D modeling software and performance calculations.

  19. Creative and innovative thinking with fresh approaches.
  20. Risk management and strong ability in handling stress.
  21. Local language is a must along with English and Hindi.
  22. The Person will be based in our office in India.
