Mechanic

As a Sewing Machine Mechanic at our production facility, your role is crucial in maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing industrial sewing machines to ensure efficient and safe operations, minimizing downtime and supporting optimal production output. Key Responsibilities: - Perform regular maintenance, servicing, and calibration of industrial sewing machines such as Juki, Brother, and Pegasus. - Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic issues in sewing equipment. - Install and set up sewing machines and attachments for production lines. - Replace or repair worn or defective machine parts like gears, needles, and motors. - Ensure proper lubrication and cleaning of machines to prevent malfunctions. - Maintain detailed maintenance records and update logs for all serviced machines. - Collaborate with production supervisors to ensure machine performance meets output standards. - Train machine operators on correct usage and minor maintenance of sewing machines. - Comply with all safety policies and procedures during machine operation and repair. - Assist in planning and implementing continuous improvement initiatives for equipment performance. Qualifications: - High school diploma or technical certification in mechanical or electrical maintenance. - Minimum 3 years of experience as a sewing mechanic in a manufacturing environment. - Strong understanding of mechanical systems, sewing machine types, and production processes. - Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics. - Knowledge of different stitch types and machine settings like lockstitch, overlock, coverstitch, etc. - Good problem-solving and diagnostic skills. - Physically fit to lift machine parts and perform manual repairs. Preferred Qualifications: - Experience with computerized sewing machines and automation equipment. - Familiarity with lean manufacturing and TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) practices. Working Conditions: - Factory/production floor environment. - May require standing for long periods, lifting heavy parts, and working in noisy conditions. - Shift work may be required.
