Job Title: Sewing Machine Mechanic Department: Maintenance / Production Location: [Insert Location] Reports to: Maintenance Supervisor / Plant Manager Employment Type: Full-Time Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Sewing Machine Mechanic to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair various types of industrial sewing machines used in our production facility. The ideal candidate will ensure that all sewing equipment operates efficiently and safely, minimizing downtime and supporting optimal production output. Key Responsibilities: Perform regular maintenance, servicing, and calibration of industrial sewing machines (e.g., Juki, Brother, Pegasus, etc.). Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic issues in sewing equipment. Install and set up sewing machines and attachments as needed for production lines. Replace or repair worn or defective machine parts such as gears, needles, and motors. Ensure machines are properly lubricated and cleaned to prevent malfunctions. Maintain detailed maintenance records and update logs for all serviced machines. Collaborate with production supervisors to ensure machine performance meets output standards. Train machine operators on the correct usage and minor maintenance of sewing machines. Comply with all safety policies and procedures during machine operation and repair. Assist in the planning and implementation of continuous improvement initiatives related to equipment performance. Qualifications: High school diploma or technical certification in mechanical or electrical maintenance. Minimum 3 years of experience as a sewing mechanic in a manufacturing environment. Strong understanding of mechanical systems, sewing machine types, and production processes. Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics. Knowledge of different stitch types and machine settings (lockstitch, overlock, coverstitch, etc.). Good problem-solving and diagnostic skills. Physically fit to lift machine parts and perform manual repairs. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with computerized sewing machines and automation equipment. Familiarity with lean manufacturing and TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) practices. Working Conditions: Factory/production floor environment.
