About The Opportunity
We are hiring an experienced MD (Medicine) to join our on-site clinical team as a Consultant in Internal Medicine. The role focuses on delivering comprehensive adult medical care across wards, OPD, and acute/emergency settings while partnering with multidisciplinary teams to ensure excellent clinical outcomes and patient experience.Role & Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality inpatient and outpatient diagnosis, treatment plans, and follow-up for adult medicine patients with complex and acute conditions.
- Lead ward rounds, manage admissions/discharges, and coordinate care with nursing, allied health, and specialist teams to ensure seamless patient journeys.
- Respond to medical emergencies and critical care situations on-site; stabilise patients and coordinate transfers to higher-level care when required.
- Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation in EMR, order and interpret diagnostic tests, and implement evidence-based treatment pathways.
- Participate in clinical governance: morbidity & mortality reviews, infection control, quality improvement projects, and protocol development.
- Mentor and supervise junior doctors, residents, and medical students; contribute to on-site teaching and training activities.
Skills & Qualifications
Must-Have
- MD (Medicine) or DNB (Internal Medicine) with valid Indian medical registration (NMC/MCI).
- Proven clinical experience managing adult inpatient and outpatient cases in a hospital setting.
- Strong diagnostic and clinical decision-making skills; comfortable managing multisystem disorders and polypharmacy.
- Competence in emergency medical care (ACLS-certified preferred) and familiarity with common ICU protocols.
- Proficiency with electronic medical records, documentation standards, and hospital workflows.
- Excellent communication skills, teamwork orientation, and patient-centered bedside manner.
Preferred
- Experience with critical care/ICU care, point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS), or specific subspecialty exposure (e.g., nephrology, cardiology).
- Prior teaching or supervisory experience in a teaching hospital; involvement in audits or research/publications.
- Familiarity with quality improvement methodologies and clinical governance frameworks.
