As a Legal Specialist at Astound Commerce, you will have the opportunity to: - Provide timely and effective legal advice and support globally on various legal matters. - Act as a subject matter expert in corporate governance and securities across the company's global portfolio. - Review, draft, and negotiate commercial contracts with technology partners, vendors, and customers, with an emphasis on professional services and software development engagements. - Collaborate with different business units to ensure legal compliance. - Manage in-house legal operations, including overseeing outside counsel, global insurance coverage, intercompany relationships, and high-level business unit operations worldwide. - Develop legal processes for local and global legal/operational units. - Handle intellectual property matters, including the management of the global trademark docket. The ideal candidate for this role is a recent Law School graduate with 3-5 years of experience, possessing the following skills and qualifications: - Strong legal project management and organizational skills. - Independent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities. - Ability to balance legal risks with business objectives effectively. - Excellent research and writing capabilities. - Strong multitasking and project prioritization skills. - Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. - Willingness to take on the roles of a teacher, leader, and student within the team. Additionally, the following qualifications are highly preferred: - Experience with international legal matters. - Excellent communication skills. - Proficiency in MS Office, Google Apps, and cloud-based applications. - Previous experience with CRM-based task management tools like JIRA or Confluence. - 2+ years of relevant work experience.
