As a Market Data Specialist, you will play a crucial role in managing and optimizing market data services across the organization to support investment teams. Your responsibilities will include: - Market Index Sourcing & Onboarding: - Identify and onboard new market data/benchmark/indices for evolving investment strategies. - Evaluate index/market data providers for coverage, acceptability, and data quality. - Maintain benchmark documentation, conduct periodic reviews, and support onboarding of new benchmarks. - Market Data Management: - Review market data usage and support contract renewals. - Ensure compliance with licensing agreements and optimize data consumption. - Vendor & Stakeholder Management: - Manage relationships with key market data and benchmark vendors. - Lead negotiations on contractual terms, licensing fees, and service levels. - Act as a liaison between vendors and internal stakeholders. - Cost Optimization & Process Improvement: - Monitor licensing costs, identify cost-saving opportunities, and improve process efficiencies. - Contribute to data governance initiatives for operational effectiveness and risk mitigation. - Project Contribution: - Participate in or lead projects related to benchmark strategy, data integration, and vendor management. - Support continuous improvement efforts across data and benchmark operations. Qualifications required for this role include: - Degree in Finance, Account, or Business-related disciplines. - Minimum 5 years of experience in large financial services institutions, especially in Asset Management and Investment Services. - Deep understanding of asset management business, market data operations, and ecosystem. - Strong knowledge of market data vendor services/products and contractual frameworks. - Experience in data management and understanding of data management frameworks. - Knowledge of benchmark governance and lifecycle management will be advantageous. - Proficiency with Market Data Inventory Systems such as FITS, InfoMatch, Optimize Spend, or MDM is preferred. - Ability to work collaboratively as part of a small team and effectively deal with business stakeholders.
