Job Description

Build India's first great hardware brand.

Native is the hardware division of Urban Company. Urban Company is the world’s largest home services platform, serving India, UAE, and Singapore. We deliver an unparalleled range of services including beauty services & treatments, appliance repairs, massages, home repairs, and cleaning.

At Native, we design and build high-performance products for Indian homes. From scratch, and in-house by sweating the details in-and-out.

In just over a year, we've redefined the RO purifiers:

  • Filters that last 2 years (a first in India)
  • Zero service calls for 24 months
  • Unmatched design, fit, and finish

We also re-invented what a truly smart door lock should be like:

  • Camera that lets you see who's at the door before you open (from anywhere)
  • Truly remote unlock that works from anywhere
  • Exceptional, trend-setting design

At Urban Company and Native, we understand how to build services and products that people love and feel magical! Native is not just another hardware company. Native is your opportunity to build a new kind of brand for India that's obsessed with customer delight.

About the role

We are looking for engineers who can design and deploy the tools that build our products. From jigs and fixtures on the assembly line to test rigs that ensure quality, you’ll be hands-on with the backbone of our factory operations. This role is based in Hosur/Bangalore and will start with our RO water purifier line.

What you’ll do

  • Design, develop, and validate jigs, fixtures, gauges, and tooling for product assembly and testing.
  • Translate product design needs into manufacturable tooling solutions, ensuring efficiency, safety, and repeatability.
  • Commission and implement tools on the line, collaborating with internal teams and external toolmakers.
  • Conduct DFM (Design for Manufacturability) reviews and incorporate learnings from tool trials into iterative improvements.
  • Partner with Product Design, Quality, and Production teams to solve line-level challenges through smart tooling.
  • Continuously refine fixtures based on operator feedback and production data to reduce downtime and defects.

What we’re looking for

  • Degree/Diploma in Mechanical, Production, or Manufacturing Engineering.
  • 2–5 years of hands-on experience in tooling/fixture/jig design for consumer hardware, appliances, or automotive.
  • Proficiency in CAD (SolidWorks/Creo/AutoCAD) and GD&T.
  • Exposure to DFM/DFA, tolerance analysis, and material/process selection (plastics, sheet metal, machining).
  • Ability to take a design from concept to commissioning with ownership at every step.
  • Strong problem-solving mindset and willingness to get hands dirty on the shop floor.

Why this role matters

Your work will directly influence how fast we scale, how consistent our quality is, and how effortless it feels for our teams to assemble products.
