Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and prototype ergonomic display systems (e.g., stands, shelving, modular fixtures) using CAD software, integrating metal with wood and MDF for functionality, aesthetics, and compatibility with tile/mosaic products while prioritizing user comfort and safety.
  • Incorporate ergonomic principles into display designs, optimizing for accessibility, ease of use, and reduced physical strain for end-users (e.g., showroom staff, customers) during interaction with displays.
  • Oversee manufacturing processes for metal (e.g., CNC machining, laser cutting, welding, bending, powder coating) and wood/MDF (e.g., cutting, gluing, laminating, edge banding) to ensure precision, quality, and ergonomic compliance.
  • Program, operate, and maintain welding robots (e.g., robotic MIG/TIG welding systems) to automate metal joining processes, improve weld quality, consistency, and production throughput.
  • Optimize production workflows using lean manufacturing principles, automation (e.g., welding robots, robotic integration for metal and CNC routers for wood/MDF), and quality control measures to meet ISO standards and ergonomic best practices.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including procurement, design, and installation specialists, to integrate metal and wood/MDF displays into Artivos retail and showroom environments.
  • Conduct structural analysis and ergonomic assessments of prototypes to ensure load-bearing capacity, durability, user safety, and compliance with Indian BIS standards and international ergonomic guidelines (e.g., ISO 11228).
  • Manage vendor relationships for raw materials (e.g., steel, aluminium, hardwood, MDF) and tooling, focusing on cost reduction, supply chain reliability, and ergonomic material handling.
  • Lead troubleshooting for production and ergonomic issues in metal and wood/MDF processes, including welding robot diagnostics and programming adjustments, implement continuous improvement initiatives, and scale operations from pilot to full production.
  • Prepare technical documentation, BOMs (Bill of Materials), and process specifications, including ergonomic design guidelines, wood/MDF processing protocols, and welding robot programs, to support facility setup and team training.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in manufacturing metal display systems or similar metal fabrication projects (e.g., retail fixtures, POP displays, or shelving systems) and working with wood and MDF for display or furniture applications.
  • Demonstrated expertise in wood/MDF processing, including cutting (e.g., CNC routers, panel saws), gluing (e.g., using Fevicol or similar adhesives), laminating, and finishing techniques.
  • Hands-on experience with welding robots, including programming (e.g., offline simulation software like RoboDK or RobotStudio), setup, operation, and maintenance of systems such as FANUC, ABB, or KUKA robotic welders.
  • Demonstrated expertise in ergonomics, including designing for human factors, accessibility, and workplace safety in manufacturing or retail environments.
  • Proficiency in CAD tools (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and simulation software (e.g., ANSYS for structural analysis or ergonomic modeling tools).
  • Strong knowledge of metalworking processes, materials science (e.g., alloys for corrosion resistance, wood/MDF properties), and fabrication techniques.
  • Experience with automation and robotics in manufacturing (e.g., welding robots, FANUC or ABB systems for metal, CNC machines for wood/MDF) is highly desirable.
  • Proven track record in project management, from concept to production, with familiarity in lean methodologies; Six Sigma certification, ergonomic certifications (e.g., CPE, CIE), and robotic welding certifications (e.g., Certified Robotic Arc Welding - CRAW) are a plus.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
  • Prior experience in the retail, construction, or building materials industry, particularly with flooring or tile displays, is advantageous
