In This Role, You Will
We are seeking a Manual & Automation Test Engineer with experience in banking/financial applications(Optional). The ideal candidate will be proficient in BDD with Cucumber, capable of performing manual functional testing, and skilled in developing and maintaining automated test suites. The role requires working closely with business analysts, developers, and QA team members to ensure high-quality delivery of banking products.To be successful in this role, you should meet the following requirements:Manual TestingUnderstand business requirements, functional specifications, and system design.Perform functional, regression, integration, and user acceptance testing (UAT support).Prepare and execute test scenarios, test cases, and test data.Identify, document, and track defects using issue tracking tools (e.g., JIRA).Automation TestingDevelop and maintain automated test scripts using BDD (Cucumber) framework.Enhance and maintain existing automation test suites.Integrate automation tests with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI).Ensure test automation aligns with project needs and coverage goals.Collaboration & SupportWork with developers to reproduce and debug issues.Collaborate with product owners and business users for requirement clarifications.Support regression testing cycles and production release validation.Contribute to continuous improvement of QA processes and best practices.Required Skills & Experience
Manual Testing: Strong knowledge of SDLC, STLC, test planning, defect lifecycle, and UAT processes.Automation Testing
Hands-on experience with BDD frameworks (Cucumber, Gherkin syntax).Strong skills in Selenium / WebDriver / REST Assured (or equivalent tools).Experience in maintaining and enhancing automation frameworks.Strong knowledge of SQL for test data validation.Experience with version control (Git) and CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps).Ability to analyze existing projects and quickly understand workflows, dependencies, and testing needs.Good communication skills and ability to work in a global, collaborative teamKnowledge of API testing (Postman, REST Assured)Exposure to performance testing tools (JMeter, Gatling).You’ll achieve more when you join HSBC.www.hsbc.com/careersHSBC is committed to building a culture where all employees are valued, respected and opinions count.
