Description
Oversees all mechanical aspects of a ferro alloys plant, including maintenance, repairs, and ensuring equipment operates efficiently and safely. They manage a team of mechanics, plan and execute maintenance schedules, troubleshoot problems, and collaborate with other departments to optimize production processes. Maintenance planning and smooth running of Furnace. Responsible for fabrication, erection, commissioning of Submerged ARC Furnace and its auxiliaries like Furnace cooling system, GCP, EOT crane 1. Maintenance and Repair: Managing Work Orders: Receiving, approving, and closing work orders for mechanical maintenance. Planning and Scheduling: Developing and implementing maintenance schedules for all plant equipment. Troubleshooting: Identifying and resolving mechanical issues, including breakdowns and equipment failures. Preventative Maintenance: Implementing a robust preventative maintenance program to minimize downtime and extend equipment life. 2. Resource Management: Team Management: Supervising and managing a team of mechanics, ensuring they are properly trained and utilized. Material Management: Managing the procurement, storage, and inventory of spare parts, tools, and other maintenance materials. Budget Management: Developing and managing the maintenance budget. 3. Production Optimization: Process Improvement: Analyzing production data and identifying opportunities for improvement in mechanical processes. Collaboration: Working closely with other departments, such as operations and engineering, to ensure seamless integration of mechanical systems. Safety Compliance: Ensuring all mechanical activities comply with safety regulations and standards. 4. Reporting and Documentation: Maintenance Logs: Maintaining accurate records of all maintenance activities. Performance Reporting: Preparing reports on maintenance performance, downtime, and other relevant metrics. Documentation: Maintaining detailed documentation of all mechanical equipment and systems. 5. Other Responsibilities: Training: Providing training and development opportunities for mechanics. Continuous Improvement: Staying abreast of new technologies and practices in the ferro alloys industry and applying them to improve the plant's operations. Vendor Management: Managing relationships with vendors for spare parts and services.
