Job Description

As a GSS Income/Franchise Tax Compliance Manager, you will interact with partners, senior managers, staff, and clients to provide income/franchise tax compliance expertise. The primary responsibilities of this role include: - Staff Supervision, Development, and Training - Project/Task Management - Client Service relating to income/franchise tax filings - Implementation of income/franchise tax initiatives for GSS team - Communication of income/franchise tax developments impacting compliance practice - Personal and Professional Development Specific Duties: - Oversee a wide variety of income/franchise tax compliance tasks as the lead GSS Manager - Act as an escalation point and training resource - Alert SALT Partner/Director about any issues or challenges in completing tasks - Accept responsibility for assigned tasks and make effective use of firm resources Implementation of SALT Initiatives: - Assist firm SALT Leadership Team in identifying efficiency-based SALT initiatives - Provide technical support and project management for GSS tasks Communication of SALT Developments: - Stay updated on significant current developments affecting income/franchise tax compliance services - Identify developments with a potential impact on the client base and communicate internally or externally as appropriate Staff Supervision: - Take responsibility for subordinates" activities and chargeability - Delegate and manage work effectively - Develop team processes and systems to improve productivity and growth - Provide regular performance feedback and evaluations - Develop subordinates" technical and industry skills - Gain respect and confidence of partners through clear team direction Personal and Professional Development: - Earn confidence, trust, and respect from clients and colleagues - Continue developing income/franchise tax knowledge and expertise - Demonstrate initiative, vision, resourcefulness, creativity, and independent thinking - Exhibit sound business judgment - Develop the ability to motivate and train self and staff Qualifications Required: - Bachelors business degree - Minimum of 5-8 years of progressive income/franchise compliance experience in Big 4 or large SALT specialty firm - Experience with income/franchise tax technology platforms like GoSystems, CCH Axcess, and ONESOURCE - Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel; experience with Alteryx is a plus - Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask,
