We have been mandated by a large conglomerate in to Iron & Steel business for the below mentioned role.

Position Name :

Location :Jamshedpur

Qualification : B-Tech / Diploma- Mechanical / Metallurgy / Production

Experience : 12+ Years

Job purpose:

The person will be responsible for managing and supervising end-to-end operations of the Steel Melting Shop (Induction Furnace Route) to achieve targeted production, quality, and efficiency. The role involves overseeing furnace operations, charge mix optimization, manpower management.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead and supervise Induction Furnace operations (melting, refining, tapping, and ladle handling).
Plan and monitor daily heat schedules to achieve production targets and maintain quality parameters.
Manage charge mix (DRI, scrap, pig iron) for cost-effective and energy-efficient steelmaking.
Ensure proper temperature and chemistry control of liquid steel before casting.
Coordinate with CCM and Rolling Mill teams for billet casting and downstream flow.
Monitor power consumption, yield, and furnace lining life, taking corrective measures to reduce losses.
Oversee furnace and equipment maintenance, working with electrical and mechanical teams.
Implement safety protocols, SOPs, and 5S practices in the SMS area.
Train and guide shift operators, supervisors, and technical staff for smooth operations.
Maintain production reports, heat logs, and process documentation for audits and quality control.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, quality, and cost-efficiency .
