We develop and implement sophisticated go-to-market strategies tailored specifically for government bodies, public sector enterprises, and regulatory agencies. Our team combines deep industry expertise, regulatory knowledge, and strategic selling capabilities to position PayUs digital payment solutions and credit services in alignment with government digital initiatives. About the Role:
This strategic position focuses on building and strengthening PayUs relationships with government bodies, public sector enterprises, and regulatory agencies. As the Strategic Government Partnerships Lead, you will identify, evaluate, and drive high-impact opportunities within Indias public sector. You will craft and execute business strategies that align PayUs technological capabilities with the evolving needs of government institutions, helping to advance Indias digital transformation journey while creating significant business value for PayU.
Responsibilities:
Strategic Planning & Opportunity Mapping
- Identify high-potential opportunities within central/state governments, PSUs, government banks, and regulatory initiatives
- Align PayUs payments and fintech offerings with public sector and government organizations needs
- Develop comprehensive strategies to capture value from these opportunities
Project Leadership
- Lead end-to-end execution of government and PSU collaborations from ideation and proposal development to implementation
- Work with internal teams (product, legal, compliance) to tailor offerings for the public sector
- Drive complex projects with multiple stakeholders to successful outcomes
Policy & Regulatory Intelligence
- Track and analyze policy developments, regulations, and public procurement trends
- Provide insights and strategic recommendations to leadership on regulatory changes and their impact
- Position PayU advantageously within evolving regulatory frameworks
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with sales, product, compliance, legal, and marketing teams to drive public sector-focused solutions
- Develop and execute go-to-market strategies tailored to government and PSU requirements
- Build internal advocacy for public sector initiatives
Requirements:
Experience & Education
- 7 to 12 years of experience in strategy, public policy, government relations, or business development (preferably in fintech, BFSI, or consulting)
- Prior exposure to digital governance programs like Aadhaar, UPI, ONDC, TReDS, or Smart Cities is a strong plus
- MBA or equivalent from a reputed institution preferred

- Deep understanding of Indias public digital ecosystem and fintech landscape
- Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment with cross-functional teams
