Job Description

You will be responsible for setting up and managing a direct-to-consumer consultative sales team. In this role, you will lead a team of 10-15 Admissions Counsellors and 1-2 Team Leaders. Your primary responsibilities will include providing strategic leadership to the team to achieve monthly and quarterly enrollment, revenue, and collection targets. You will oversee the complete sales closing lifecycle for leads assigned to your team, which involves managing phone calls, product demonstrations, sales closing, and post-sales relationship management. Monitoring the Sales Pipeline and ensuring the quality of the Sales funnel will also be part of your responsibilities. You will be in charge of monitoring the training provided by Team Managers to existing Admissions Counsellors on learner profiling, program knowledge, and sales closure techniques. Additionally, controlling team attrition by managing and nurturing sales talent will be crucial. Setting up performance standards for the team using key Input and Output metrics and monitoring overall performance against set goals will be essential. You will also play a key role in establishing the uniqueness and effectiveness of upGrad's model of online learning. The preferred candidate for this role would be an individual with outstanding English communication skills (both written and verbal) and strong interpersonal skills. A minimum of 3 years of sales experience in a B2C environment is required, with education sales experience being preferred but not essential. Experience in handling an Inside Sales team would be advantageous. The ideal candidate should be solution-oriented with effective problem-solving skills and excellent people orientation. We are looking for individuals who are great listeners, trustworthy, and capable of building relationships with both internal and external stakeholders. The ability to approach any situation with patience and empathy is highly valued. A sales-oriented mindset is necessary to effectively communicate upGrad's offerings to prospective learners and achieve revenue targets. A passion for delivering the highest levels of customer service is essential. Basic proficiency in the MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel) is preferable for this role.,
