Manager, Reinsurance Financial Reporting

Essential Responsibilities:

• Lead the Bermuda Reinsurance Financial Reporting team.
• Oversee Reinsurance financial planning, accounting, and reporting activities.
• Drive and prepare the Quarterly Income Statement Pack and Balance Sheet Pack.
• Perform monthly/quarterly reconciliations, including but not limited to Balance Sheet and P&L reconciliations.
• Support Legal Entity & Regulatory reporting work.
• Prepare, review, and post (if needed) journal entries.
• Maintain effective communication with onshore (both written and verbal) and manage expectations.
• Keep flexibility in reports to incorporate high-level adjustments or structural changes from stakeholders.
• Develop and maintain process documentation.
• Drive continuous process improvement and manage special projects.
• Knowledge of Enterprise Finance Reporting (EFR), Qlik & HFM/Smart-View, IFRS 17 will be an added advantage.
• Support ad-hoc activities.
• You will report to the Senior Manager, Reinsurance Financial Reporting.

Required Skills and Abilities:

• Qualified CA with relevant experience or MBA in Finance with relevant experience in Financial Accounting & Internal Reporting.
• Excellent Accounting knowledge, preferably on IFRS, reviewing journal entries, income statement analysis, balance sheet analysis and commentary, financial planning & analysis, etc.
• Relevant years of experience in directly handling a team, responsible for running monthly/quarterly one-on-ones and annual performance appraisals.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

Desired Skills and Abilities:

• Knowledge of Enterprise Finance Reporting (EFR), QlikView, Power BI & HFM/Smart-View, IFRS 17 will be an added advantage.
• Excellent MS Excel skills.
• Ability to work and communicate effectively as part of a cross-geographic, cross-organizational, and cross-cultural team.
• Excellent team player with the ability to work independently.
• Strong customer focus and results orientation.
