Manager of Celebrity and Public Relations

As a member of the team at PETA India, your role will involve assisting in the smooth operation of the organization's media and celebrity projects. You will report to the Vice President of Celebrity and Public Relations and be based in Mumbai. Key Responsibilities and Duties: - Pitch PETA India's campaigns and events to the media, making necessary follow-up calls - Coordinate the preparation of news releases and pitches - Engage celebrity support for campaigns and initiatives, overseeing partnerships and projects end to end - Manage contact databases for the media and celebrity projects team - Maintain a calendar of special dates related to media and celebrity projects - Organize inventory for media and celebrity project needs - Ensure orderly management of media and celebrity files and folders - Develop target lists for media coverage and strategies to secure it - Liaise with PETA India and international affiliates for production needs - Research celebrity news and suggest contacts for projects - Collect and distribute news clippings promptly - Coordinate with PETA US and other affiliates for media and celebrity projects - Assist in organizing photo shoots and events - Cultivate relationships with celebrities and media professionals - Provide input in media strategy and celebrity involvement meetings - Prepare and maintain meeting notes for the team - Act as a media spokesperson on animal rights issues - Lead, mentor, and develop the team, ensuring timely project completion Qualifications: - Minimum 5 years of experience in public relations or a similar field - Fluent in English and Hindi, additional local Indian languages knowledge is a plus - Thorough understanding of animal rights issues and campaigns - Interest in internet trends and celebrity news - Strong organizational skills and attention to detail - Appreciation of creative work - Excellent written and verbal communication skills - Self-motivation and ability to work well in a team - Initiative-taking and ability to meet deadlines under pressure - Willingness to travel occasionally - Support for PETA India's philosophy and advocacy of its positions If you are passionate about animal rights and media relations, willing to contribute to PETA India's mission, and meet the qualifications mentioned, please apply for this full-time position in Mumbai.,
